Tekstvak: Foundation Hope Village Europe..

Why
All volunteers had to face it: the day of farewell to Hope Village. A lot of volunteers wanted to continue supporting Hope Village after their return in Europe. Individually they didn’t have the ability to make a difference. Therefore foundation Hope Village Europe is incorporated; a cooperation of volunteers with the goal to support Hope Village on a structural basis from Europe.

Goal
For companies it is attractive to donate something concrete and therefore they prefer to donate a car or a house rather than the monthly electricity bill or the salaries of the mommies. Furthermore there are often private individuals who are donating a single amount. Unfortunately Hope Village is struggling with finding donors who are willing to support the monthly operational costs like salaries, petrol, electricity and food. Hope Village Europe wants to help Hope Village with these operational costs. Our support is needed to enable the planned expansion.

How will our donations be used?
Every month we will announce the amount that we have donated on the website. Currently the monthly operational costs of Hope Village Windhoek are N$85.000 (€8550). This is needed for the salaries of the staff, food, petrol, gas and electricity. There is one big donor who finances half of the monthly operational costs. To ensure that there is enough money, they need to find extra donations every month. This is a lot of extra work, causing insecurity and they are not always able to find these donors. Sometimes there is not even enough money for the weekly shopping for food. In conclusion, Hope Village needs our help for the monthly operational costs!

Next to the operational costs we want to give the volunteers who are currently working in Hope Village a donation of N$500 (€55) every month. They can use this to for activities with the children.
To make the support more personal we will keep the donors informed about the current needs. For example, four boys made it to the selection of a professional soccer team. However, there is no money for the club fee. Another boy called Peter is invited to record 4 hip-hop songs in a studio, which will cost N$350 (€35) per song. Through our website and newsletter we want to find donors for these kind of extra costs.

Volunteers
Ex volunteers of Hope Village play a central role at Hope Village Europe. Starting from € 3 per month volunteers, and family and friends of volunteers, can help Hope Village. With personal stories volunteers can convince their friends, family and colleagues of the success of Hope Village. In this way donors will know exactly what will happen with their donation, unlike donors of big international organizations. The low amount and the personal connection with Hope Village makes it attractive to become a sponsor. Thus we can recruit many sponsors and help Hope Village with their biggest problem; the recurring operational costs.

Expenses
Besides the inevitable transaction costs to collect the donations and to transfer our monthly donation to the bank account of Hope Village Namibia, our foundation Hope Village Europe hardly has any expenses. The foundation has been incorporated Pro Bono by the Law firm Loyens & Loeff and the hosting costs for the website are also donated. In the Netherlands we are registered as a foundation, which means that we don’t need to pay tax. All communication will go through e-mail, so we won’t have any printing costs. To make it clear from the start; ‘working’ visits to Hope Village we never be paid by donations to Hope Village Europe.

Once off donations
Of course you are more than welcome to give a once off donation. We can use it to provide extra support to Hope Village during extra hard financial times. For example, at the beginning of a new school year, during Christmas or when it’s needed to admit a child to a private hospital.
To transfer money to Namibia is really expensive, approximately 20 euro. When you would like to send money to Hope Village, you can send your donation together with our monthly donation so you won’t need to pay these high transaction cost. Of course we will notify Hope Village of your donation.
